Recruitment/Sample
There are many different ways to recruit a representative sample:
- Client provided sample: Client generates sample of customers
(or purchasers) along with their Internet addresses. This sample is
recruited via an email invitation.
- Advertising recruitment: Target consumers are recruited via
advertising on related Web sites and invited to participate in the study.
- Purchase sample: It is easy and inexpensive to purchase
specialized
samples.
- Internet panel sampling: The Internet is not representative of
the
population of the U.S. Internet users tend to be younger and better
educated--with higher incomes. However, it is possible to design samples
representative of the U.S. population (or any subgroup, example: online
gamers) through stratified quota sampling.
